    Role Description:

     ● Launched VetConnectPro, a $1.2M investment in software development to create the first-of-its kind digital employment tool that translates military occupations to civil service exams and career opportunities in the public and private sector of New York City. This program is designed to make it easier for veteran job seekers to start, continue, and develop purpose driven careers in New York City. 

    ● Oversaw the technology transition and delivery of direct services to veterans and theirfamilies through VetConnectNYC, resulting in more than 300 unique
    programs providedby over 200 community based and major nonprofit organizations within the local,state and national level resulting in over 5,000 clients served. 

    ● Managed department’s programmatic delivery of services through $2.5M in vendor contracts. 

    ● Managed public-private initiative with the City of New York to provide vital training for City Agency EEO Officers, Veterans’ Liaisons, Hiring Managers, and Agency Personnel Officers to increase recruitment of servicemembers, veterans, and their spouses in City Government and education on benefits and employment protections for veterans and members of active and reserve components of the U.S. Armed Forces.

    Role Description:

     ● Oversaw partnerships with CUNY schools and major universities to provide capacity building programs for veterans’ and their families through DVS’ Veterans on Campus Initiative. 

    ● Created and managed the Service2Service mentorship program for Veterans and AmeriCorps members interested in employment with the City of New York in partnership with NYC Service.  

    ● Managed and executed phase 1.5 of the FairFaresNYC Program, where in a 3-month period I received over 700 interest forms, screened over 400 completed applications, and determined over 230 student veterans eligible for the benefit. Resulting in a total cost savings of up to $170,000 for student veterans residing in NYC.  

    ● Served as a mentor to the winners of the CUNY IBM Watson Challenge for their creation of “Guardian”, a cloud-based artificial intelligence-driven mental health assistant for Veterans.

    Role Description:

     ● Launched the first interagency “HUD-VASH Continuum” initiative in the nation with US Housing & Urban Development, US Department of Veterans’ Affairs, New York City Housing Authority, and the New York City Department of Homeless Services to provide a specific subset of military veterans with housing resources needed to live independently. To date, there have been over 140 formerly homeless veterans disconnected from VA services that were placed in permanent housing due to the program.  

    ● Managed all operations and staff within the Housing Coordination Center of the HSS line of action. 

    ● Increased the number of private market housing secured by homeless veterans by 250% from the previous year.  

    ● Developed data elements and reports needed to support HSS operations, including reporting for the Mayor’s Management Report and other City Hall trackers.
