Lead Budget Analyst

This position serves as a Lead Budget Analyst in the Justice Management Division, Budget Staff, Working Capital Fund Group, located in Washington, DC. The Budget Staff has principal departmental responsibility for the development, direction, and execution of Department-wide program budget operations; funds control; planning and conduct program budget review efforts throughout the Department to assist top level officials in the assessment of objectives and efficiency.


The duties and responsibilities for a Lead Budget Analyst, GS-0560-14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Develop, recommend, interpret or implement budgetary financial policies for the DOJ's Working Capital Fund (WCF). Provide expert advice to managers, customers, and WCF providers on all phases of the budget program. Oversee the development and justification of WCF operating plans as well as the ongoing execution of those resources. Make recommendations and provides technical assistance on budget levels for WCF providers and customers.


Requirements

To qualify for the position of Lead Budget Analyst, at GS-0560-14, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: Advising program official and/or budget analysts on budget formulation actions; Recommending approval or disapproval of requests for apportionments, allotments, or other funding requests; Analyzing budget execution activity and/or trends; AND Preparing narrative justifications for projected funding needs. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by 09/09/2026 of this announcement.
